FOR CITY VIBES - Do you enjoy the vibes of the city, culture and architecture - then here are some very good possibilities to enjoy. Take Granada, a city filled with beauty and magic. Many have tried to describe Granada in words, from travelers to poets. But this city has to be experienced. From a view spot in town you can see Alhambra with Sierra Nevada as a dreamy background. You have cave houses, you will have unexpected street music performances, flamenco and much more. A visit to Alhambra of course not to miss out. Sevilla (picture) is the capital city of Andalucía and has an Arab, Jewish and Roman heritage. It is maybe best known for its cathedral but you can find several imposing historic buildings. Cádiz, "Little Havana", our absolute favorite. The town is said to be the oldest in the western world.Here is a different ambience from other places in the province. Not easy to describe, has to be experienced. Come to explore Andalucía!

Gorgeous Ronda

There is a certain ambience in this town. Something meditative. Magnificent views, wuthering heights, rounded hills, blue shaded mountains. Streets lined with orange trees, the park Alameda del Tajo with a sudden halt at the edge to the gorge. Down in the valley you can see (and visit) wine yards and olive farms. Ronda is a rare place in Andalucía and one of the most visited for its dramatical appearance and for the bridge Puente Nuevo (1973). It is one of the oldest towns in Spain and with a rich cultural history. The architecture and the culture bear the stamp of Celts, Romans, Moors and Christians through history. When you think you have seen it all it is still many small streets to wander. Or, why not jump on the bus and make a round trip via Marbella and back passing the north side of the national park Sierra de Las Nieves on the way back.

Wilderness

In Andalucia there is a vast wilderness and nature to explore with 3 national parks and 24 nature parks. The national parks are Doñana, Sierra de las Nieves and Sierra Nevada. Sierra de Grazalema nature park (picture) is located between Málaga and Cádiz and is part of a mountain massif with heights upto 1600 m. Grazalema is a suitable day excursion from Ronda. Along the Atlantic coast from Tarifa to Cadiz you will find beautiful long stretches of more or less wild beaches. Bolonia maybe the most famous for its high sand dunes. You will feel very far from the overexploited and over crowded sunny coast.

Hikes and Wine

In the small village of Juzcar, half an hour drive from Ronda, lies La Fabrica Hojalata, an organic wine bodega. A part of Kidus day program for Ronda. For its mix of history, beautiful nature, mystic and of course their organically produced wine. We´ll do some wine tasting, have som tapas while listening to the story of the place. We will hike to the village of Juzcar, about 3 km. A blue village with a story of its own. We will share it with you then and there.

El Caminito del Rey - The Kings Pathway

We can take the train and make the dizzying steep walk along the walls of the gorge El Chorro. Once one of the most dangerous hikes in Spain but made safe after the path been renovated and reopened in 2015 (Picture below to the right) You will learn the the story behind the name "the kings little path".
